I’ve had difficulty slogging through it because, although I agree with what he says, I think perhaps it would mean more coming from someone a bit older.

Have I been “wrecked?” Yes. My first trip to Brazil in 1997 did it. Life has never been the same since, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
